Covid-19 Safety

Multiple chowktis in Udaipur and Mavli were chosen as contact points for working with migrant workers. Site visits were performed in order to develop a broad overview of the migrants’ work patterns. Discussions were organised in order to gather detailed information about different trades, and meetings were conducted on a weekly basis to build an understanding about the different problems that labourers face during their daily work lives.

Along with this, the chokties was cleaned by our workers in Covid-19 and labours were given mask, sanitizers and covid-19 measures and protections were provided by Jandaksha.

Night Shelter – Short-term migrants who come to Udaipur have to spend their nights on footpaths or on the side of roads due to unavailability of shelter. In order to give them relief from police atrocities and other anti-social elements, discussions held with the Udaipur Municipality Chairperson and Commissioner led to temporary migrant shelters. Blankets were also distributed to help the migrants get a respite from the chilling cold in winter.
