Legal Advice andassistance

Jandaksha organized every month legal day at the center, so labourers come with their cases and intentionally solved all the cases and give them legal suggestion.

1. Contract agreement :- It also initiated for migrant labourers who are engaged for long duration. Earlier the employers and the labourers did not enter into any form of written contract. As a result in case of any problem the matter was solved by the sole discretionary power of the employer as it was difficult for the labourers to seek prompt legal help in absence of written contract.

2. Settling of Disputes :- Numerous labour disputes take place in the course of the work lives of the migrants. Many a time, they are cheated of their full payments or given lesser payment in lieu of their hard work. If they are bold enough to ask for payment, they get physically assaulted. In such circumstance the center gets their complaints registered and send notice to the contractors. The centre also undertakes the role of arbitration between the contractor and the labourer and helps the labourer in getting the remaining payment from the contractor.

3. Work attendance Diary:-  A number of labour disputes arise on account of not having written contracts about future payments. Since labourers do not maintain written records of their days of work and wages, the contractors try to exploit them by cheating them off their money during the time of final settlement. Jandaksha issue a diary to migrant workers in which they can keep an account of the relevant details that will help them during the time of final settlement.
