Legal aid workshop and Education

The unorganised workers face a lot of difficulty in finding work on a continuous basis under one contractor or employer. Due to non-availability of stable work, their employers keep changing constantly. Besides, the migrant are also not aware of their legal rights and written contracts never get signed. The worker also impose blind trust in their contractors since they have no other alternative. Furthermore, migrant labourers are not recognized by any government department and thus receive no such support. A lot of contractors/employers do not make full payment to the labourers in which case, the labourer has to constantly make rounds of the contractors place, even at the end of which he does not receive the payment. Thus, in a lot of instances, thee helpless labourers are harassed and cheated very badly.

Jandaksha organized a legal workshop. The taining was facilitated by center legal advisor. They provided information about labour law related womens, equal wages at, womens violence act etc. Labourers become awaree of their rights and linked to legal guidance and counseling services of the center. Indirectly other labourers, which were not attending that workshop have also being benefited by these labourers.
